Bob Maldonado
I was born and raised in Redondo Beach, California, graduated from Redondo Union High School before attending the University of California, Irvine with an emphasis on Marine Biology. I received my bachelor’s degree and went to work for the City of Los Angeles for almost 10 years as a marine biology technician and industrial waste inspector. An opportunity arose from a college friend that led me into the real estate industry. It allowed me to grow and help others as an entrepreneur. My mathematical and science skills made it a smooth transition for me to help buyers structure the right loan for them based on what they could afford when it came to homeownership.
In 1997, I began my career in real estate as a sales person. I transitioned into mortgage loan origination in 1999. Because of my background with economics, statistics and overall mathematics, it made more sense for me to analyze a borrower’s profile and make an educated decision based on underwriting guidelines. I enjoy working with people and solving problems. Every potential borrower needs a true and accurate assessment of their finances and future financial goals. It is my job to help them navigate these decisions as buying a home is the largest investment most people will make. I enjoy helping people get into their first homes as well as helping people develop their real estate portfolio for the future.
My goal has always been to provide the best customer service to my clients and referral partners as the mortgage business can be difficult and intense at times. Having to work through compliance, investor and government regulation can be stressful. If I can make the process of buying a home a little less stressful for our clients and become someone’s trusted advisor providing sound financial information and knowledge to help them make good decisions – that’s what it’s all about. I strive to make this process as smooth and simple as possible.
Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, mountain biking, water skiing, snowboarding and off-roading. As you can tell, I live and play in the outdoors, however, I have taken up bowling in the last few as well.
